Hello Dilara. You have a 6-year football experience as a licensed football player in clubs such as Çanakkale Dardanel and Afyon İdmanyurdu. Can you tell us about your experiences, successes and disappointments in all the teams you played for?
I learned different things in every club I played for. I have experienced a lack of confidence at times. I had money problems in Afyon İdmanyurdun. I went to Dardanel and when I left Afyon, I felt more professional there. I left there in my second season due to some disagreements.
What changes did you observe in your own development during the 6 years you played licensed football?
My understanding of football has improved every year. I started to control my stress more easily during the match. My gaming knowledge improved more and I paid more attention to my private life.
Can you give us some information about your early football development and the coaches who contributed to it before you got your license?
My physical education teacher in middle school helped me. Then, I met our teacher Pınar Konca in the Eskişehir Çamlıcaspor team, where I first went, and learned how to work disciplined and organized from her. I learned a lot about the game of football from Fatih Çakmak in Afyon. At Dardanel, I learned about facility life, training information and what to do during the match from Deniz Ünver. I met Murat Korkmaz from the 1922 Dumlupınar team. I have been in this team for 2 years. Thanks to Murat Hodja, I have improved myself in football in every sense.
Could you tell us about the positive and negative developments you observed regarding women's football in Kütahya?
No support other than team management. There is a family atmosphere. Our teachers and presidents take good care of us in every sense.
You are a defender. How do you improve yourself for this position and try to stay up to date in terms of world standards?
I look at how world-famous defenders prepare for the match and how they train. I watch how and when to make a move towards the opponent during the match. I prepare myself for the matches by training accordingly.
What are your skills that make you stand out for the centre-back position?
I have a height advantage, so I'm good at heading balls. I can throw long balls. I set up play from behind and push the team forward. We are trying to put pressure on the front. I'm good at set pieces, I'm cool and I don't get excited.
What do you think are the essential qualities in a defender?
He should not get excited when the ball is with the opponent, make moves at the right time, set up play from the back and keep the team alive. Since he sees everyone behind in terms of the game, he should talk, motivate and speak in a positive way.
Would you like to talk a little about your dreams and goals, where you believe you will come in your career?
I really want to wear the National Team jersey and make my family and teachers proud. I would love to wear the jersey of the Fenerbahçe Team, which I keep among my goals. I believe that I will work hard for this and wear that jersey.
